Did you know that 450,000 children runaway each year.  One of every three children that runaway are exploited (sexually used for money)?!  By the third time a child has runaway, there is an 85% likelihood that they will be exploited.  We must do something about this.  Anytime you see an underage girl on 4th, call the police.  Do not look away.  These children need our help, whether they think they… do or not.  They are children.  Imagine if it were your child, you would do anything to save them.  The children being exploited for the financial gain to some adult isn’t lucky enough to have parents that will fight for them to have a rich and fulfilling life.  If you can help, you should.  Call me, Monica DuPea, at 240-2195, if you want to help get these children off the streets.

NYEP is happy and grateful to have received funding from United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra in order to help us make lasting change in our community. With these funds, we have the ability to help homeless teen girls achieve self-sufficiency. We applaud UWNNS for its strategic changes to the allocation process and their encouragement to collaborate with other organizations in order to make a larger impact in our community. We believe Nonprofits need to work together for the betterment of the community and find solutions to our regions problems. We can only do so much working in a vacuum. With the sizable allocation, we have a greater ability to make a greater and more measureable impact within our community. We look forward to working with UWNNS throughout the year as we utilize these funds to assist our community and experience positive results. Thank you United Way!!!!!
